Our Government

I would like to pose a question to all who read my blog. Does the government have the right, to take more from the wealthy, less from the poor, and redistribute it? My question is very simple. As it currently stands, the top 5% of earners in this country, pay well over 50% of the taxes. Yes, over half of our tax revenue, is paid by 5% of the citizenry. The remaining 95% of us, pay less then half of the taxes collected. What that means, is that the rich are supporting the poor, at an abnormally high rate. This flies in the face of the Democratic manifesto, which falsely claims that the poor are over taxed, and the rich pay less then their fair share. It makes it quite clear, that the aims of the liberal Democratic party, are to eventually make 100% of tax revenue come from the top 5% of earners, so that 95% of us can live off of them. This is known as the redistribution of wealth. It was a mythical method of governing, that lead to the eventual downfall of the Soviet Union, and has been disproved over and over throughout history.

The poor in this nation, are poor for many different reasons. Some are poor by choice, others are poor by chance, and others are poor by their own misfortunes, but no matter why they are poor, they still lack the ability to pay for necessities. I will never say that any person should be turned away from sources of food, water, basic medical care, and possibly basic shelter needs, but they must help provide for themselves. Welfare programs have long issued checks to the the laziest, breeding factories, that have ever lived. Women and men, who suckle on the public tit, and make no effort to turn their lives around. They would breed and breed, and use the children to increase their income. Many efforts have been made to stop such abuses, but have been stopped by liberal congressmen, usually minorities who do not wish to see their own people hurt by taking away their checks. It is not the responsibility of the government, to provide for the upkeep of the people. This government's responsibilities are to provide for the defense of our nation, to protect the freedoms which allow us to make or break our own lives, and protect us from those who wish to unjustly take from us. Since the '60's, this nation has slipped into a liberal delirium, broken only briefly by the eight years of Ronald Reagan's Presidency. We have given up our freedoms, in return for social programs. We gave up a bit of freedom for Medicare, and a bit more for Social Security in the 1930's. We gave up a bit more for Welfare, and a little more for each social program which takes away responsibility, and gives us a check in its place.

The bottom line, is that no clause in our Constitution, and no law in our land, can make the socialization of America, right or just. No act of Congress, no resolution to be passed, can make it right to tax one group more per capita, based upon their wealth. The rich owe taxes, just as we do, and they pay their fair share, PLUS SOME. I hold no malice toward the wealthy. They hold a position that I dream of attaining, and when, and if, I attain my dream, I do not want the government stepping in to redistribute my hard earned wealth. What the poor do not understand, is if they ever get out of poverty, and become rich, they to, will lose a lot of it to the government, and I'm sure, they will dislike that idea.

Korean War II

The North Korean armed forces opened fire against South Korea civilians today, causing hundreds to flee to shelters, and killing two South Korean Marines. The attack was unprovoked and in clear violation of the 1953 Armistice Agreement ending the four year Korean conflict. This follows on the heels of the sinking of a South Korean naval vessel by a North Korean submarine. Neither incident was proceeded by provocative actions by the South. The North Koreans have insisted that they had the right to fire on the South, and have threatened retaliation against any forces that incur into North Korean territory by "0.001 inch."

Balancing peace with what is right, is a hard task. A nation under attack has the right to defend itself, yet that nation must balance the immediate threat to its citizens against the threat of all out war. North Korea is not the petty state that it once was, fighting only with Chinese assistance. North Korea has the ability to inflict devastating damage on the South Korean people and economy. Such a conflict would have worldwide implications, causing stock markets to tumble and the economy to worsen. While North Korea will fail in their attempts, and will eventually fall to United Nations forces, the destruction will be complete. South Korea will pay a heavy price to finish the war started over sixty years ago.

We have to ask ourselves, as a world community, if actions taken by North Korea should be allowed to pass unanswered, or if we should give a proportional response to the north, and punish them with the backing of the international community. A proportional response would be to attack, using cruise missiles, one or two military complexes within North Korea, and warning the North that if it retaliates or makes aggressive moves southward, it will face certain destruction and the end of the regime that has ruled it for over sixty years. The North is not stupid, and would see any retaliation as a threat to its control over its own nation. China may step in at the United Nations level, but would be hard pressed to send troops to defend its tiny neighbor. North Korea has been a thorn in the side of the Chinese for years. With economic tensions throughout the world at an all-time high, and the threat of sanctions against China were it to step into the conflict, it would surly seek a non-violent end to the conflict. China would surly place political pressure on the United States to end the conflict, but in the end, blood will be spilled, American, Korean, and Chinese, and the North will either change into an unrecognizable entity, or the South will be offered at the alter of appeasement, an option not seen as likely by political watchers.

Regardless of what happens, North Korea has brought any and all repercussions upon itself, and has no one to blame but itself for any conflict that may arise. As a rightful nation among nations, South Korea maintains its sovereign right to defend itself against aggression from its northern neighbor. We, as Americans, are obliged to stand beside South Korea, in what is the last true bastion of communism, and protect a world economic leader, and a peaceful people. We cannot allow North Korea to continue their aggression without consequences. The United States must act, along with South Korea, to punish the north, and fight to maintain the freedom and liberties of the people on the Korean mainland.

Israel

Does the nation of Israel have the right to exist? This question seems to plague the liberal activists throughout Albuquerque. There is no stronger concentration of misinformation then the community surrounding academia. The sadness of our halls of education being used to spread lies to our most influential generation, is overwhelming. A short drive around the University of New Mexico on a weekend day, will reveal the true depth of ignorance. Signs bearing anti-Israel slogans, pro-Palestinian slogans, and a general hate for Israel, abound. The question must be raised; what did Israel do to earn such disdain? What acts were committed by the Jews, to be considered heinous enough to warrant such a deep hatred. The answers are much more complex then we may think, but can be attributed mostly to a misunderstanding of the Jewish right to exist, the intentions of Israel in her military or civilian actions, and the true nature of the land of Israel.

Aside from a biblical right to exist, and the fulfilling of biblical prophesy, a straight forward examination of the facts surrounding the very existence of Israel must be received, before any true understanding of reality and truth can be made. A review of the facts, will reveal the formation of the Jewish state, through peaceful means. The newly formed United Nations, under United Nations General Assembly Resolution 181, voted on the plan to partition the land known as the British Mandate of Palestine, or Palestine for short, into two distinct territories. The first territory, to be comprised of the Arab population would be created out of 43% of the Palestine Mandate. The second territory, to be comprised of the Jewish population would be created out of 56% of the Palestine Mandate. The remaining 1% was Jerusalem, to be an "International Zone" to be administered by the United Nations. At first glance, this gives the Arabs less land, and is unfair, but upon closer examination, one would see that a large portion of the new Jewish state was the Negev Desert, uninhabitable for humans at the time, and thus an inflation of the true size of the Jewish territory. One would also find that the Arabs would control the highlands, which contained the Aquifers that fed the entire nation, including the Jewish partition, thus giving the Arabs the prime real estate, as well as a choke hold on the water for the Jews.

Given such inequities, the Jews still considered a restoration of their ancestral land to be a blessing, and accepted, with fervor and excitement, their land. The Arabs, hostile to the Jews, vowed to kill the Jews, by throwing them into the sea. Upon the declaration of Independence for the Nation of Israel in May of 1948, the Arabs, without any provocation, invaded Israel from all sides. The Arab armies had thousands of tanks, planes, and artillery pieces, not to mention millions of soldiers. The Israelis had no tanks, few artillery pieces, and only a population of eight-hundred thousand. Through such adversity, defeat would seem inevitable, yet the Israelis defended their land, and prevailed.

Each subsequent Arab threat to Israel was handled with precision, a dedication to avoiding the loss of innocent life, and a respect for the treasures of the religion of Islam. Israel was met with indiscriminate attacks on civilian populations, a devotion to the taking of innocent lives, including women and children, and a disrespect for the treasures of Judaism. The Arabs, through every step of the process, have lied, murdered, attacked, and reneged, on every single promise they have made. They have exposed their true intention of destroying Israel, the cost be damned.

When someone looks at the news, they will never read a story about an Israeli terrorist walking into a crowded market and blowing himself up while killing innocent Arabs. You will never hear of Israeli soldiers raping Arabs, or damaging Islamic heritage sites. In fact, to this day, access to the Temple Mount, the most sacred Jewish spot on this earth, the location of Solomon's Temple, the place where God speaks to His people, is denied to all Jews, and only open to Arabs, who wish to gain access to the Mosque which was built upon the ruins of the temple. The Arabs built upon Jewish holy land, and yet the Israelis, with enough firepower to force the Arabs off the Temple and destroy the Mosque, choose not to, out of respect for Islam. In return, the Muslims have blatantly destroyed precious artifacts, and historically significant portions, of the Temple Mount while laying electrical cables to provide power for the Mosque. It is again obvious, that the Arabs do not care about what is right, only what is theirs.

This brings us to the ignorant fools who bear signs against Israel, and in support of the Palestinians. These people support terrorists, murderers, and those who rape the past. They admonish the Jews, the only ones in that land who care about all who are in it, regardless of religion. They bear signs demanding that Israel give back land that was rightfully and legally taken as a spoil of war during a conflict that the Jews did not begin, but that they fully intend to finish. They do not address the fact, that if the Arabs had succeeded in defeating Israel, that they would not have given the land back to the Jews after their conquest, just as they are asking Israel to do. These protesters are ignorant, in that they do not know the facts, or choose to believe the propaganda over the facts.

I hope that this sheds light on Israel's plight. They face daily murder bombers who walk into crowded markets and slaughter the innocent. They face rockets launched into schools and neighborhoods, tearing the arms and legs from children playing in the streets. They face a continued threat to their sovereignty and existence, created by the devoted nations surrounding them, to wipe them from the map. Israel is not the persecutor, but the persecuted. They are the victim in a line of atrocities committed in the name of Allah. The dupes who support the Palestinians, will not face the fact, that they support murder, terror, and genocide. They are, the true threats to peace.

Election 2010

Ladies and gentlemen, it is now over. The 2010 election cycle has come and gone, and with wonderful results. As a Republican, I have a biased point of view on the outcome, but anyone who says they don't, is a liar. There is no such thing as political neutrality any longer. It is one side or the other. Every single person can have their beliefs placed in a category, and that category can be filed under the basic principles of one of the two great American political parties. With that said, I can brag about the outcome of the election, as it was my belief system that ended up being victorious. The great part is, my belief system, is that of the truly patriotic American. It is Constitutional, based in the rights of man, in the order of civilization, and the beliefs and ideals our forefathers passed down to us. I did not fall for the progressive drivel as so many of my neighbors did. I did not vote in favor of murder by way of abortion. I did not vote for the raping of religion in the name of justice, or the absence of the very same from the halls of our government. I did not vote against the right to defend one's self from aggressors, or the belief that our nation is not exceptional. On the contrary, I voted for all of these things. I voted for America.

American Exceptionalism is the term used to describe a belief that the United States of America is blessed beyond any nation on earth, and that our system is superior to others. Some argue that this is egotistical. I argue that it is true! America, and its system, for all of her flaws and imperfections, is the most perfect system in the world. There are those who cite the higher GNP in nations such as Sweden or Norway, and some point to the exploding economies of China and India. I agree, that those nations have individual traits that are better then ours, but one must look at the overall picture to obtain a clear understanding of what exceptionalism means. It is not merely a high income, or a booming economy. The citizens of those nations have sold something very dear to the human spirit, in order to obtain their single bragging rights. They sold their freedom. They believe it to be more important to be rich, or have booming economies, or to have less to worry about and allowing the government to worry for them, then to have the freedom that we enjoy in this country. There is poverty in America. There is starvation. There is abuse, assault, rape, and murder. There is corruption, and there is sacrifice on large scales, but to temper this, there is something that no other nation on earth possesses. We have the freedom to better ourselves, to remove those things from our society, and to become something, without fear of retribution or government intrusion. We are free men and women, with endless possibilities in front of us. In Sweden, you cannot say no, if the government tells you to say yes. In China, you cannot disagree with your government, or you will be tortured and jailed, possibly murdered, by those who rule your lives. This is America, a land where possibilities are limited only by your imagination, and the freedoms to accomplish all that you imagine are constrained only by the boundaries of the human spirit.

I say this, because the election proved that Americans don't want to be dominated by a government, they want to dominate their government! They don't want to be ruled, but to rule. They don't want people making decisions for them, they want to make the decisions. Government by the people, of the people, and for the people, has not perished from this earth, and as long as our nation remembers its roots, the sacrifices made to secure our freedoms, and the lives placed upon the alter of justice and equality to purchase our liberties, we shall not lose our way. Our nation took a turn, and that turn is leading us down the right path. We reclaimed our House of Representatives in a landmark vote, and swept aside the Socialists, Communists, and anti-American zealots who have choked us for the past four years. We have made it clear that we do not want to spend more then we have. We do not want a healthcare system run by our government, which will inevitably drive our nation to financial ruin. We do not want our elected officials telling us what is best for us. We do not want a government that rules the people without regard to the wishes of the people. We have spoken, and we are one united voice. We will take our place in Washington as the voice of the people. We are Americans united against liberalism, socialism, communism, and progressivism. We are Americans, and together, we can defeat those who choose to trample on our beliefs, our way of life, and our freedoms.

There is no better feeling, then the victory of freedom over tyranny, of liberty over slavery. We have thrown off the binding chains of the Democratic Party, and are free once again. Onward to 2012 and the Presidential election, where Americans will retake the White House, and the Senate, and we shall be a land governed by the people once again!

Latest and Greatest

I have to say, it's been a rough month. My former employer decided to let me go, all due to Nepotism. For those who don't know what that is, it is simply when an employer or supervisor, does something for their own family, in total disregard for seniority, skill, etc., of other employees. My boss' step-son was my supervisor, and of course, he disliked me. He lied to his step-dad, who in turn let me go. I knew my job. Hell, I still know my job. My former supervisor was in his position by pure luck and ass-kissing. I dislike ass-kissers, therefore, I dislike him, but that's another entry entirely. Either way, I'm now looking for employment. It's a capitalist world, and I will find something. Just thought everyone should know.

For a few years in the early 2000's, I was the NCOIC (Non Commissioned Officer In Charge) of the Base Honor Guard where I was stationed. I led, and performed, over 200 funerals in that time, from aged veterans who carried with them a long story, a large family, and many many friends. I laid to rest active duty military members who died in accidents, or from illness. I carried the caskets of men and women who died in the line of duty. I have done it all, folding flags, firing rifles, carrying caskets. There was one job, just one, that everyone wanted to have, but no one wanted to have. Yes, it's confusing, but the one job that every person feared, but found the deepest and most profound honor, was giving a folded flag to a loved one. If I can possibly put into words, the emotions and thoughts, then let me try.

After the pomp and ceremony, the fanfare and the tradition, is the single moment when my heart tends to collapse into itself. It is never easy, but for some, it is especially hard. When I presented the flag to an older woman, who's husband passed away due to age, or illness, it is comforting to know that they lived a full life, and they experienced all that they set out to experience. The test of strength comes when you turn, with the flag cradled in your arms, and you face a young wife, not more then 22 years old, who is staring at you as if you have brought her husband's body to her personally. She looks at you and her eyes pierce your heart and burn through your soul. You maintain composure, but every muscle in your body shakes. It is pure discipline that keeps you from weeping beside her. You hand her the folded flag, and you repeat the phrase;

"On behalf of the President of the United States, the United States Air Force, and a grateful nation, I present to you this flag as a token of appreciation for the many years of faithful and dedicated service of___________. May God bless you, your family, and the United States of America."

At this point, she will do one of two things. She will either stare blankly at you, as if her entire reason for living has been ripped from her soul and her body is a shell that stands before you, or she will weep uncontrollably, as if you have sealed the final fate of her loved one, and it is you who has ended his existence. You know in your heart she does not believe that, but her every action, her every look, screams for retribution for what has happened to her. You look down, and there is a newborn baby, or a child barely old enough to know what is happening, and they salute you, because their daddy taught them to. At this point, it is the power of God that is keeping you standing, and nothing more. You lose the ability to speak, and you lose the ability to reason. You are operating on pure training at this point. You stand and salute the flag, and the widow, and then turn to march off, leaving the family to contemplate their future minus their loved one.

There is NOTHING in this world that hurts worse, then being that person, the messenger that seals the deal, that closes the ceremony, letting them know that he's really gone. Politics be damned, this is a human reaction. It is not confined to those with or without religion, with or without politics. It transcends all limits of humanity, and it brings you to a whole new level of understanding, of the toll paid by those defending our way of life, our interests, and our freedoms.

I know first hand what that pain is like. Each flag I presented was a life lost. The families suffered the loss of one loved one. I suffered the loss of hundreds. Any person who claims the moral high ground, must first walk in the shoes that I walked in, and then they can have an opinion. Until then, any thoughts they have are hollow in comparison. Hand a young wife a flag, representing everything her husband died for, and watch her weep at a distance barely measurable in inches, and feel the immense pain flowing from her, and THEN create an opinion.

Introduction to Me and what I believe

Well, this is my first attempt at a blog, and I won't deny being a bit intimidated, but I'm sure I will eventually settle into whole scene. I just wanted to tell everyone that reads my blog, just what I believe in. This blog is going to be my forum for voicing my political views. I am happy to debate my beliefs with anyone, but if it degrades into name-calling or other typical liberal tactics, I will end the debate, not because I have lost, but because I win by simple default.

Let's get to it, shall we. First off, as anyone can tell by my name BulletproofConservative, I am a political conservative, yet I maintain a somewhat "middle of the road" social stand. Now, to explain. Politics in the United States are simply divided into three distinct parts (or they used to be), national, regional, and local. National politics, in my opinion, should remain 100% conservative. Minimal government. Minimal interference. Basic operations such as defense, interstate trade regulation, and diplomacy. Regional politics should be a 50-50 mix of conservative and liberal views. We have to maintain social order, and this is the first level of that process. Local politics can lean more to the liberal point of view, as this should be the "hands on" part of politics, where the people meet the machine. Taking care of the poor, hungry, homeless, etc. The separation of these three should be somewhat obvious, and should be maintained. When liberalism creeps into the halls of national politics, then we begin a downward spiral. When conservative politics creep into local politics, we begin the same downward spiral.

So, not to bore you folks, if anyone likes where this may go, please keep reading, drop me a message, comment, etc. I like to hear all sides of the argument. If you believe you can change my mind, please try. I can't guarantee you will, and most likely you won't, but if you do manage to sway me, then you will have succeeded in something darn near impossible.
